The coding manual lists a number of common farm items which are purchased. The manual states which revenue or cost code DairyBase would code these item to. The more consistency achieved in coding revenue and expenses will lead to more consistency amongst financial statements and the benchmarks that derive from those financial statements.

The revaluation dates form a key part in calculating a current estimate on the value of land and building used in the farm business being analysed. The accuracy of these dates are important otherwise key information (such as Return on Dairy Assets Ratio; Return on Equity Ratio; Total Dairy Assets; Growth in Equity from Capital) may be under or over-stated.

These sheets summarise the values DairyBase uses to generate the non-cash adjustments for the operating profit. The livestock values (NAMV) are used to generate the value of change in livestock.

This chart of accounts list provides the bases for creating a set of financial statements that would follow the DairyBase input screens and classifications. Not all account codes will be relevant to use for every farm business. This should be used in conjunction with the DairyBase coding manual.
